‘Rushed to trauma centre’: Police investigating hit-and-run in Burlington neighbourhood after man hit by vehicle while crossing street

Halton police responded to an incident of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on Fairview Street, near the Burlington GO station.

Police said it is believed a 35-year-old man was crossing Fairview Street when he was hit by a motor vehicle.

“He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a trauma centre,” Halton police said in a news release.

The vehicle that struck him did not remain on scene, police said, adding the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information can call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065. Police also want to speak with anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage.

It has been a busy 12 hours for police in south Halton. Officers also responded to an incident near Bronte Creek Provincial Park and have ordered a shelter in place for residents in and around the area.
